Calculate Disability Percentage as per RPWD Act 2016 Guidelines (India)
If your assessment is based on Auditory Brainstem Response (ABR) report instead of Pure Tone Audiometry (PTA), please use the following formula:
PTA Value = ABR Value - 10 dB
Example: If ABR shows 70 dB, enter 60 dB (70 - 10 = 60) in the PTA box below.
This correction factor is applied as per RPWD Act guidelines for children and cases where conventional PTA cannot be performed.
Pure Tone Average at 500, 1000, 2000, 4000 Hz
If using ABR: Enter (ABR value - 10 dB)
Perceptual Speech Intelligibility Rating Scale
CAPE-V or DSI (includes roughness, breathiness, strain, pitch, loudness)
Assessment should be done after completion of treatment. Speech disability is calculated using Speech Intelligibility and Voice Clarity scores.
Speech Intelligibility Affected (SIA) - Perceptual assessment
Overall Voice Clarity Affected (OVCA) - CAPE-V/DSI assessment
Assessment after completion of medical-surgical treatment (9-12 months post-onset). Includes regular documented speech therapy intervention by RCI Registered Speech Language Pathologist.
Speech Intelligibility Affected (SIA) - Post-therapy assessment
Overall Voice Clarity Affected (OVCA) - CAPE-V/DSI assessment
Assessment for disability 9-12 months post-onset after completion of treatment.
Overall Voice Clarity Affected (OVCA) - CAPE-V assessment
Speech Intelligibility Affected (SIA)
Assessment after completion of medical-surgical treatment using regular documented speech therapy intervention by RCI Registered Speech Language Pathologist.
Speech Intelligibility Affected (SIA) - Post-treatment assessment
Overall Voice Clarity Affected (OVCA) - Resonance/voice quality
Assessment for disability after completion of one year of regular documented speech therapy intervention by RCI Registered Speech Language Pathologist.
Speech Intelligibility Affected (SIA) - Articulatory precision assessment
Overall Voice Clarity Affected (OVCA) - Speech motor planning assessment
Aphasia Quotient (AQ) from WAB test in Indian languages (administered post 6 months of stroke)
Assessment after completion of one year of regular documented speech therapy intervention by RCI Registered Speech Language Pathologist.
Speech Intelligibility Affected (SIA) - Perceptual assessment
Overall Voice Clarity Affected (OVCA) - CAPE-V/DSI assessment
Cleft lip and palate is assessed based on speech intelligibility, resonance disorders (hypernasality/hyponasality), and functional impact on communication and feeding.

Post-surgical speech outcome assessment
Assessment of velopharyngeal function
Impact on daily communication and quality of life
Intellectual Disability is assessed using adaptive functioning through VSMS score along with IQ testing (BKT/MISIC). The disability percentage is primarily based on the VSMS score which measures self-care, interpersonal activities, communication, and work/education performance.
Note: Minimum age for certification is 1 year. Children 1-5 years are diagnosed as Global Developmental Delay (GDD). Children above 5 years are certified as Intellectual Disability.
Enter the total VSMS score (0-100). Assessment of adaptive functioning in daily activities.
Optional: IQ test score from BKT/MISIC for reference (if available)
Age determines the diagnosis category
